Job Summary

The PTA Program Coordinator/Clinical Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining the PTA Program and the clinical externship sites for students in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with clinical sites, coordinating student placement at clinical sites, and supervising the overall clinical experience. This is a 10-month defined term contract position.

Job Duties:

· The Clinical Education Coordinator collaborates with the Dean of their department to ensure proper administration of the Physical Therapist Assistant program.

· Maintain a teaching load in accordance with program and business needs.

· Coordinate and oversee clinical experience requirements for students in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.

· Procure and maintain clinical sites.

· Maintain program equipment and supplies.

· Monitor and evaluate student progress; provide feedback and advising to students regarding progress.

· In collaboration with the Dean maintains program curriculum.

· In collaboration with the Dean and Executive Director of Accreditation and Compliance, ensures the program adheres to programmatic and institutional accreditation requirements.

· Participate in faculty meetings, new student orientation, graduation, and other campus events, as appropriate.

· Participate in professional development activities to maintain currency in the field and with instructional and educational practices and methods.

· Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Master’s degree.

A minimum of five years (or equivalent), of full-time, post-licensure experience that includes a minimum of three years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience.

Must hold an active, unrestricted PT license or PTA license/certification in any United States jurisdiction and the state where the program is located if required by that state’s jurisdiction.

Special Qualifications:

· Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience.

· Experience in administration/management. Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment, including the equivalent of nine credits of coursework in educational foundations, or previous CAPTE-granted exemption.
