The Duquesne University Department of Speech-Language Pathology in the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences is seeking one full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. This position will begin on or after June 17, 2025, with reviews occurring annually.
Primary responsibilities include:
Clinical education and supervision of speech-language pathology students in accordance with ASHA/accreditation standards during clinical service provision on-site in the Duquesne clinic and/or in the community
To teach evidence-based assessment, treatment, counseling, and consultation skills in face-to-face, telepractice, and simulated clinical settings as well as didactic classroom settings that include undergraduate and graduate speech-language pathology students
Select administrative responsibilities
Service to the department, school, university, and professional communities.
Additional duties:
To manage incoming client evaluation and treatment scheduling, documentation, and communications
To develop student planning, client management, documentation, and report writing skills through evaluation and documentation of student performance with feedback
To work collaboratively with Program Directors and Clinical Professors across specialty clinics
To mentor students one-on-one for individualized learning experiences
To support professional learning in the community
To maintain positive interpersonal relations, effective communication both verbally and in writing, flexibility, and ability to function in a dynamic environment.
To work within a Department and School whose missions are dedicated to providing graduates with the ability to provide exceptional client-centered care
To engage in the development, delivery, and expansion of a high-quality health sciences program
To be a part of a campus community that values a commitment to professional development and collaboration on research, interprofessional education, and community-engaged experiences.
This position requires:
A master?s degree or doctorate in speech-language pathology
ASHA certification (CCC-SLP)
Pennsylvania licensure in speech-language pathology by start of employment
Five years of professional experience as a speech-language pathologist with clinical experience in language delays/disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders including autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities, and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC)
Experience providing clinical education/supervision to students or Clinical Fellows
Two hours of professional development post-certification in the area of supervision and/or clinical instruction
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
