Applicants who meet the required minimum qualifications and submit a complete application with all required components will become part of a standing pool which the College will draw on as scheduling needs dictate. Instruction may be during the day, afternoon, evening and/or weekend. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment beyond the quarter course assignment or any assigned hourly or substitute work assignments. The hourly rate is determined based on the Instructional Mode (lecture, lab, non-instructional or other) as listed in the current Adjunct Salary Schedule (Download PDF reader).
Successful candidates must be flexible in their ability to achieve the instructional and general responsibilities of the course assignment, including the use of a broad range of learning resources and technologies. Primary Responsibilities:
The primary duty of adjunct instructional faculty is to serve students through faculty/student contact and by other activities related to the learning process:
- Design and delivery of college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions, student learning outcomes and class schedules;
- Work with departmental faculty/leads/supervising administrators to develop syllabi, addenda and/or reading lists for each course taught; submit approved syllabi and addenda to division; assist in the annual course(s) update; participate in selection of texts and related teaching resources;
- At the beginning of each course, orient students to syllabi and addenda;
- Assess student learning outcomes, engage in timely interaction/feedback/grading to support student success and meet course outcomes;
- Provide students with appropriate learning resources to facilitate student success in achieving course outcomes, program outcomes and appropriate College-wide Student Learning Outcomes; and
- Maintain, submit and retain accurate academic records, including verification of class rosters and student grades.

The quarter schedule for the 2022-2023 academic year is as follows:
Fall 2021: September 19 - December 8
Winter 2022: January 3 - March 23
Spring 2022: April 3 - June 16
Summer 2022: June 26 - August 18
Required Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts degree in Art from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Two (2) years of college-level teaching experience in Art;
- Computer literacy for instructional purpose; and
- Portfolio including five (5) - ten (10) examples of your own art work. Please provide an image list with title, media, size and date of each work.
- Master of Fine Arts degree in Art with emphasis in 3D from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Experience teaching foundation courses in 2D and 3D design as well as Art Appreciation or Art History;
- Experience teaching foundation courses in sculpture, metalsmithing/jewelry or ceramics; and
- Experience developing cross-disciplinary curriculum in the 3D field.
