With a direct reporting relationship to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the AVP Human Resources promotes UK's agenda. The agenda aims to accelerate UK's movement toward academic excellence in all areas and gaining worldwide recognition for its outstanding academic programs, its commitment to undergraduates, its success in building a diverse community, and its engagement with the larger society.
The AVP Human Resources provides strategic leadership and vision to the UKHC HR Business Partners and UKHC Enterprise Learning. Additionally, this role will advise executive leadership of workforce bench strength, making recommendations on adjustments; work closely with HR unit directors and managers to communicate and coordinate the HR support for UKHC.
The ideal candidate must understand higher education both operationally and financially and be able to speak to the business of a large university; must also have significant professional knowledge of all areas of Human Resources. Must have the ability to multi-task; solid time management, critical thinking and follow through; excellent project planning and organizational skills; leadership skills to include the ability to lead and direct others toward goal setting and attainment, taking into account divergent demands while managing scope and timelines. Must possess exceptional communication skills (written & verbal); strong ability to engage and motivate others; collaboration, customer service, confidentiality, honesty, integrity, commitment to diversity, and active listening skills; enjoy working independently as well as in a group; and a thorough understanding of resource and employee management. Must have strategic thinking, change management, planning and organizing, and effective project management skills.

Required Related Experience:
Required License/Registration/Certification :
Prefer degree in HR, business, management or related field. 10+ years Human Resources experience preferred. Human Resources executive-level/C-Suite experience in a higher education environment and/or academic medical center is highly preferred.
