The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for one tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology. This position will support the newly created Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Applied Psychology program. This combined clinical and school psychology Psy.D. program accepted its first class in the fall of 2015. One focus of the program is on training supervisors. In addition to the Psy.D. program, the Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a Master's program in clinical psychology, and a NASP-approved Specialist in Education program in school psychology.
Responsibilities for the position include teaching graduate coursework and an occasional undergraduate course, conducting scholarly research and publishing, advising undergraduate and graduate students, guiding dissertation and thesis research as well as serving on dissertation and thesis committees, and collaborating with area agencies. Collaboration with other faculty in the administrative oversight and clinical training of doctoral students in our on-campus clinic is also expected. There will be the opportunity to participate in the development and accreditation of the Psy.D. program. Additional responsibilities include serving on program, department, college and university committees, and other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in corresponding field (i.e., Clinical Psychology) by the August 15, 2019 anticipated starting date. Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible and are expected to obtain licensure from the Kentucky Board of Psychology at the Health Service Provider level. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and to maintain an active program of scholarly research.
